An Electrical Fire In The Garage Causes Major Interior Damage

Old wiring in the garage ignited a small fire, but, it sent smoke and soot throughout the majority of the rooms.  Be sure to know what to do AND what not to do if fire strikes... Do: have and practice escape plan.  Don't: turn on ventilation system fans and circulate smoke throughout the house.  Do: have and know where fire extinguishers are located.  Practice each part of your emergency plans periodically so all are aware of safety plan.  In this case, all surfaces, furniture and fixtures had to be cleaned and neutralized of fire odor.
